Thursday Nighter: PB’s for the Ladies!

I am inspired and impressed with our female crowd! It was a night of PB’s for the ladies.

3 Women started in the A group this week!
-Chloe looked great but went home early (there is big money on the line this weekend).
-Kathy rode like a STAR pushing with A group leaders most of the night.
-Me….I owed Noel 1 lap. I did him one better. Focus, focus, focus all the way to Douro – No grocery lists were made during last night’s ride

And 2 Women started in the B group!
-Jody has made it her furthest yet. And her Tuesday TT is getting faster by the week. It must be Thursdays, right mom?
-For the record…Tanya is BACK!! She had her best ride this year as well.

We are still looking for the rider who carried home the Lanterne Rouge last night. Last but not Least.  You’ve earned it

Chloe Loves Her Bike

Why Chloe loves her bike!

By Chloe Black

It’s funny how when something has been such a big part of your life for as long as you can remember, how do you articulate why you love it. If I think back to that day when my parents gave me my first Super Cycle from Canadian Tire, “Sam”, it was this amazing feeling that my world, the world of a 5 year old, just became vastly more accessible. I think it was the first time I can really remember realizing that my life had changed in a big way. Even at 5, I can remember straddling my bike and feeling really quite grown up. What I could never have imagined at that age, speeding around my Central School neighbourhood, is that this love affair was going to be taking me farther than I’d ever imagined and that love would become so deep, that to separate me from my bike would be similar to amputating a limb from my body. It was forever going to be a part of who I am.

Casey Loves Her Bike

Fiona was my first bike, she is very good friends with Bridgette. I bought her the first summer I was at Wildrock. I love this bike first for the colour, 2nd for the friendships that were made riding this bike, 3rd because she was a great intro to road riding. She treated me very well in Mallorca when I only had one arm to hold on with. Fiona has a new owner now, I hope her frame is clean and her chain is lubed.

i have a new bike now, that i love for a handful of different reasons, But i will never forget fiona.

My Kuota Kharma, aka Bridget has travelled with me to Spain and Tuscon. I’ve raced her in a Half Ironman and road her in my first crit. It was a love/hate relationship at the beginning… This bike has great karma!!! I love my bike :)

I am so glad everyone is sharing why you love your bike. Keep them comimg and happy riding!

Cindy Loves Her Bike

I love the colour of my bike, designed by Flirtees. It is light and it moves so fast on the streets of Toronto. It makes me want to get out everyday to excercise. I have the goal of 5000 km in 5 months, in competition with Tanya and Casey. I am going to win!!

Why Sharon loves her bike!

Mountain biking is like breathing to me. It’s just me and my bike living in the moment.
